After a 15-year run as an education association president, Pete departed in 2022 in order to devote himself to a strategy consulting practice for schools and other nonprofits.

At the Association of Boarding Schools (TABS), the voice for college prep boarding schools in the U.S. and Canada, Pete and his team partnered with hundreds of school leaders— particularly Boards, Heads and Assistant Heads of School, Residential & Student Life Practitioners, and Admission & Marketing Professionals, as well as CFO’s and Advancement leaders—to drive excellence, innovation, and collaboration across the sector. Earlier in his career, he spent thirteen years in teaching and school administration, gaining on-the-ground experience in leadership across multiple functional realms, including admission, college counseling, development, and marketing communications.

Pete is former Board President for Hanger Hall, an independent school for girls, and former Board Vice-President for the Diocese of Charlotte Schools, a regional Catholic school system. He currently serves on the Boards of Santa Catalina School (California) and Riley's Rest, a charitable organization providing respite grants to caregivers (New York), and he serves on the Head's Health & Wellness Committee for the Board of Carolina Day School (North Carolina).

Pete attended Hotchkiss School, UNC-Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar and National Merit Scholar, and earned his Master’s in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, where he is currently working on his doctorate.

In addition to strategy, Pete's professional and scholarly passions include machine learning and AI, institutional risk management, student and teacher retention, educational leadership, and organizational culture and change.
